What is REVENUE?These are stamps printed by Governments and often by Government Dependencies and Public Institutions for fiscal purposes. Except for United States Revenue stamps, these cannot be found in the Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue. We have an extensive selection of these in our section COSTA RICA REVENUES (abbreviated REV.) and the catalogue for Costa Rica Revenues can be obtained from the Society of Costa Rica Collectors (SOCORICO), based in the United States Also note that our list contains numerous postage stamp varieties as well as a section we call COSTA RICA PLUS which includes COMPUTER VENDED POSTAGE, POSTAL SEALS, POSTAL STATIONERY and other items catalogued in the COSTA RICA POSTAL CATALOGUE and COSTA RICA POSTAL STATIONERY CATALOGUE also published by SOCORICO. The COSTA RICA PHILATELIC SOCIETY (Asociación Filatélica de Costa Rica AFCR), based in San Jose, Costa Rica, is also naturally an excellent source of information on all aspects of Costa Rica philately, as well as the publishers of uncounted studies, handbooks and the recent Costa Rica TELEPHONE CARDS catalogue, available in print as well as CD. |
